Tetris effect

Packing is like Tetris. Unpacking is like Jenga.

If you’re not careful, you’ll see it everywhere:
the case for more efficiency, better stacking
configurations, less time spent, more boxes to tick
as Done. If you’re not careful, time will become
a chore to finish, your life a job. You don’t
get paid at the end of this one, though, in fact
you’re the one who pays. It turns out, you’re
not the worker here. You’re the product someone else
is making, the cog placed lovingly, artisinally,
into the gearbox. Soon you’ll be packaged, stamped,
and shipped home, where a child will pull you out,
fawn over your newness, play with you, for a little
while, and set you on the shelf, forgotten.
