You are so anxious. I watch you
and see echoes of my own mind
like mirrors in a carnival house.
We are mirrored, you and I — do you look
at me and know it? Or is nothing
more behind your gaze that what I’ll do
in regards to you? Show me your world,
though I wouldn’t understand it
any more than you would understand mine.
After all, the only thing you can see
in a mirror is yourself, looking back.
